  The Pecan Grove Ranch consists of rugged canyon country, level divide country and deep soiled valley country. Elevations range from approximately 2,500 feet above sea level in the higher country to approximately 2,300 feet above sea level in the lower country. The entire ranch drains into the West Grape Creek watershed. The highlight of this property is the headwaters of West Grape Creek. This area consists of a large, century old grove of pecan trees. West Grape Creek is a wet weather creek, but this portion of the creek holds water year around in most years indicating the existence of one or more springs. This area of the ranch provides ample roosting for Rio Grande Turkey which are seen in abundance. Brush species on the ranch, in addition to the pecan grove, include hackberry trees, mesquite, cedar, agarita, prickly pear and other brush species conducive so wildlife. Hunting is considered excellent for white-tailed deer, rio grande turkey and feral hogs.

  In addition to West Grape Creek, water is provided by two water wells. One is equipped with a water well and the other a solar powered submersible pump.
